ABOUT YOUR MUSEUM
The Oakridge Museum was started in 1958. It began in a small room 20' x 20'. Today it's display area
is 5000 sf, housing  aprox. 30,000 artifacts.
Most of the collection is of local origin.
The founders were life time citizens of the Oakridge area. With no official public support, the museum has benefited from many thousands of hours of dedicated work by hundreds of volunteers.
In the Museum's nearly 50 years of existence it has had only 5 volunteer Curators. With the help of many capable Presidents and exceptionally talented board members & volunteers it now stands as one of the unique Museums in Lane County, Oregon.
We like to think of this Museum as "your" Museum not "ours".  A most resourceful Curator by the name of Max Gosnell said, "We have no secrets here".  We try very hard to maintain an OPEN DOOR POLICY befriending all who enter.
Inside the Museum:
This part of the site is under construction, please check back for links that will take you inside the museum for a small look at the many wonderful pioneer exhibits on display. Then stop by our building
